Fire for Conceiving

Some of you may have heard of Tracy McGinnis’ who is suing the privately church ran school organization for terminating her employment. The story begins when three weeks after getting married she requested maternity leave. The principle asked her if she had conceived before getting married? She replied yes. Later she was terminated by the Christian organization citing that she failed to adhere to the Christian standards of the privately held school with strong religious beliefs. Many have sided with the former school teacher and others with the school. The lawyer representing the former school teacher says this is case clearly rooted in discrimination. I am not sure about that because she clearly was aware of the religious practices of the organization when hired. The lawyer went on to say because this is a church private school which situated on another property away from the main church building that the rules the clergy normally use to govern the church does not apply to the private school…The church leaders has asked her to drop the law suit considering the bible. Well I think that is a good idea but before firing the teacher they should have consider grace, and forgiveness as well. They could have given her another form of reprimand instead of termination. Both sides should have clearly consulted the Word of God before taking this matter before the courts.

Being a parent is not easy. When attempting to teach our young ones values that last a life time it can be hard to compete with main-stream media. From cereal boxes with funny characters to the latest teen idol group all seem to market for our kids attention. Reports show children watch more television now than ever before. Dora the explorer is has taken place of face-to-face conversations once had between children and parents.  Parents now use T.V. as a way to occupy a child’s need for their attention. Some has substituted these convoluted mediums for old fashion parenting. Let’s be honest. Some days you want time for yourself and can’t image how to share it with someone else, let alone a child. To be a good parent we can not focus on self, but on selfless acts that improve the lives of our love ones. Parenting is the toughest job in America today and showing up is half the battle. In other words being there is what counts. Parenting…the toughest job you’ll always love.

Roman Polanski

It is a sad day when Americans come to the aid of a person who admits to having sex with a 13 year old girl. As a matter of fact, people have slashed Star Jones because she mentioned on ET News that Polanski has remain a fugitive for 31 years only because he is a white-rich man. Some have called her a racist. But in her defense I must admit. Polanskis’ money kept him free for all these years. Rather or not if his color had anything to do with it remains to be argued. When I compare Roman Polanski to Michael Jackson…I noticed that Michael never ran from the charges, but dealt with them through the system.  The question should be why didn’t our government pursue this guy earlier? He clearly continued to work, and freely travel to other countries with no fear of being apprehended. Now, lawyers for the famed movie maker are reporting Polanski failing health as a result of being detained. When does time on run  count as time served in the American justice system?  Have we forgot that there is no statue of limitations on a felony charge? Hollywood is protecting this creative film maker because of his skills with story telling. Have we forgotten his skills of child molestations, rap, and abuse?

Move Mountains Monday

Thank God for another week to live life with purpose. This week we place God first, our families,friends,brothers,sisters in Christ, and strangers second. Lastly then work and things. Remember by faith we live and by God’s will we reap blessing in our lives. Be bless!
